On Wednesday the 21st the transition year students went on an outing to Hugh Lane Art Gallery and the Science Gallery in Dublin. The Hugh Lane Art Gallery had a wide range of art to view, from classic paintings to photography. The students were allowed to traverse the outstanding exhibits the gallery had to offer such as the Francis Bacon exhibit and the Roger Casement exhibit. There were constantly running documentaries in the exhibit for anyone to enjoy and the Francis Bacon exhibit even had a recreation of Francis’ studio. The Science Gallery had a large focus on the human senses and how technology can benefit or even replicate them. The gallery uses interactivity to its advantage letting the students experience what it would be like to be colourblind or to have synesthesia.
